Once you have become Endorsed, there are requirements and recommendations for maintaining Endorsement. These requirements and recommendations have been developed to promote professional development and maintaining infant mental health competencies.

 

 

Requirements and Recommendations

 

Infant Family Associate  (Level I)

Continuing Endorsement Requirements

Education and Training

Minimum of 15 clock hours per year of relationship-based education and training, pertaining to the promotion of social-emotional development and/or the practice of infant mental health (e.g., regional training, related course work at colleges or universities, infant mental health conference attendance). Documentation of training hours submitted with membership renewal.

Professional Membership

Annual renewal of membership in AK-AIMH or another infant mental health association.

Maintaining Endorsement Recommendations

Reflective Supervision

AK-AIMH recommends that all endorsed professionals see reflective supervision or consultation

 

 

Infant Family Specialist (Level II)

AK-AIMH recommends that all endorsed professionals seek reflective supervision or consultation

 

Bachelor’s prepared:  Level II Master’s prepared OR Level III or Level IV- Clinical, Min. 12 clock hours

 

Master’s prepared: Level III or Level IV –Clinical,: Min. 12 clock hours

 

 

Infant Mental Health Specialist (Level III)

Continuing Endorsement Requirements

Education and Training

Minimum of 15 clock hours per year of relationship-based education and training, pertaining to the promotion of social-emotional development and/or the practice of infant mental health (e.g., regional training, related course work at colleges or universities, infant mental health conference attendance).  For those who earn endorsement at Level III and provide reflective supervision or consultation, at least 3 of the hours of specialized training must be about reflective supervision or consultation. Documentation of training hours submitted with membership renewal.

Professional Membership

Annual renewal of membership in AK-AIMH or another infant mental health association.

Maintaining Endorsement Recommendations

Reflective Supervision

AK-AIMH recommends that all endorsed professionals see reflective supervision or consultation.  It is especially recommended that Endorsed professionals who provide reflective supervision or consultation participate in reflective experiences, individual or group, with those who provide reflective supervision or consultation to others.

 

Direct Service Provider: Level III or Level IV-Clinical: Min. 12 clock hours

Provider of RSC to others: Level IV-Clinical, Min. 12 clock hours

 

Infant Mental Health Mentor (Level IV)

Continuing Endorsement Requirements

Education and Training

Minimum of 15 clock hours per year of relationship-based education and training, pertaining to the promotion of social-emotional development and/or the practice of infant mental health (e.g., regional training, related course work at colleges or universities, infant mental health conference attendance). For those who earn endorsement at Level IV-Clinical and provide reflective supervisor or consultation to others, it is recommended that at least 3 of the hours of specialized training be about reflective supervision or consultation. Documentation of training hours submitted with membership renewal.
